Automated customs declarations reduce transit delays between Zambia and the DR Congo

Trade throughput at the Kasumbalesa commercial corridor has achieved a five-year high following the complete implementation of paperless cargo processing.
The Kasumbalesa border corridor connecting Chililabombwe to regional DR Congo and SADC markets has recorded substantial transit improvements following the integration of 24-hour electronic cargo clearance.
Cross-border traders and truck drivers who called into Konkola Radio confirmed that border turnaround times have dropped from days to a few hours, easing congestion along the main commercial transit route.
Local business chambers noted the faster clearance is directly stimulating local retail and transport logistics in the district.
